I remember it like it was yesterday. I was sitting on my living room couch when my then-wife said, “I want a divorce!” At that point, we had been married for 25 years. I had met her shortly after high school during my first semester of college, and we married 18 months later. I had lived with her longer than I had lived with my parents. My whole world turned upside down.
What about the kids? What would they think? Moving? Lawyers? Many of you know the drill. A decision had to be made at this juncture: do I fall apart or do I rise up?
