Though the average small business is operated by a solo founder, small businesses still provide a vast amount of employment opportunities within the U.S. Over the past 25 years, small businesses have generated nearly 13 million net new jobs.[1] For perspective, that’s about two-thirds of the jobs added to the economy, according to Forbes. For Kevin Dunlap he’s been an entrepreneur for over 20 years. “I am a self-published author of 4 books and a former podcast host of a show called Life's Little Lessons where I interviewed other entrepreneurs from across the globe.
I became an entrepreneur in 1999 after being downsized while working for Corporate America. This is when I discovered that there is no job security when working for someone else. This led me to experience my first entrepreneurial gig when I found interest in a network marketing company that sold air/water filters and homeopathic products.
After the company was shut down I eventually ventured over into real estate. I started as a real estate consultant and investor. This would eventually lead to becoming a Realtor. I worked in real estate from 2002 until 2020. After releasing my 4th book called Launch! - The A to Z in Creating a Successful Business I decided I wanted to work with other entrepreneurs to help them make the transition from a full-time job to running their own business. In 2022 I made the move from Las Vegas - after living there for 18 years - to Raleigh, NC. At that time I went full-scale into the business coaching arena.
I have created a training company called Optimal Performance Academy where I have both online training programs as well as different levels of coaching. I do have a weekly free training program where I train anyone who is interested in running their own businesses which is found on Meetup under the name Small Business Owners.
My first goal is to help 100 entrepreneurs become 6-figure wage earners in their business through one or more of my coaching programs or online training programs". He joined me this week to tell me more.
