Hey everyone, as you know, each episode has and carries with it very short tips around speaking on stages and how we can master those stages that we speak on.

[00:00:51] Today, the tip I want to share with you is to always remember that they say today we have the attention span of that of a goldfish, which is less than I think eight seconds. And so we all have shorter attention spans. And so my, I guess, advice to you today is to figure out a way that whatever you're sharing, you're continuing to mix it up quickly.

[00:01:11] So never stay in the same story for 10 minutes. Don't stay on the same idea for 10 minutes unless it's a signature talk or what your talk's about, but try not to stick around the same area too often. Mix it up, whether it's with humor or props, if you're that type of a speaker, or mix it up with a new story or a pause, whatever that looks like. Make it so that you're never trying to keep somebody's attention on one thing for a super long time.

[00:01:38] I learned this from Tom Ziglar, the son of Zig Ziglar, when he shared a story with me about why someone told him Zig was such a powerful speaker. It's because he knew how to change it up before people lost interest. So the takeaway today is to figure out a way to always keep it changing and always keep it so that people are hearing something new and seeing something new and excited. If you're on stage for 45 minutes, maybe try to change it up every two or three minutes. I'll leave that judgment to you. But the takeaway today is to make sure you're always changing it up.
